I’ve been on a smoothie kick after my recent Blendtec purchase 11 days(smoothies) ago. In these past days, I’ve been been trying to come up with smoothies that will actually fit into my daily caloric allowance and that leave me feeling full for a bit until I’m ready for a snack.
As I was still trying to wake up, I got to thinking about putting oatmeal into my smoothie. I know I had read about it in my search for previous smoothies but I had never actually tried it. So after a quick search, I discovered that you can put old-fashioned oats into a smoothie. (Good, because that’s all I have in my cupboards) So I quickly assessed what I had in the house… and came up with a keeper.
Blueberry Banana Oatmeal Smoothie
1 cup almond milk (you could substitute milk or soy)
1/4 cup old fashioned oats
1/2 cup blueberries
1/2 tsp cinnamon
2 packets of stevia sweetener (you could probably use honey or agave nectar)
1 cup of ice
Total calories : 270
I will definitely be adding this into my smoothie rotation.
